What we do.

 

In our Tilmanstone Salads site we produce first class Salad's products including leafy salad bags, leafy salad bowls, takeaway salad meals, prepared vegetables & side dishes for one of our most prestigious customers in our state-of-the-art-factory.  

 

About the role.  

 

You will manage 4 teams of Shift Engineers with Team Leaders for each shift reporting into you, in addition you will have the up to 4 cohorts of apprentices also reporting into you. You will be integral to providing support to the business and ensuring efficient use of available resources to assist operational teams in achieving their goals.

 

Accountabilities: 

 

  • To provide engineering technical support on a day-to-day basis, but also in the case of major technical plant breakdowns, which may require flexibility around hours.
  • Create and maintain an effective Preventative Maintenance program to support the operational teams.
  • To ensure the Agility system (CMMS) is fully utilised by the shift teams
  • To effectively drive the Root Cause Analysis culture within the engineering shift teams
  • Ensure that ongoing reactive jobs and RCA actions are filtered into the maintenance schedule as part of the site CI program
  • To ensure that all business policies and procedures are followed at all times by the shift engineers
  • To ensure the highest standards in terms of Safety, Quality, Hygiene and environment are maintained
  • To identify areas for continuous improvements and drive inhouse project work
  • The Maintenance Manager will be required to cover for other management roles as required

 

About you.  

 

If you have an engineering background with relevant training and experience in maintenance management, ideally within a fast-paced food manufacturing or FMCG environment – this could be the role for you. You will be energetic, punctual, proactive, and reliable with the ability to lead, guide, and motivate others towards achievement.

 

  • Must have technical expertise in either mechanical or electrical competency
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience (preferably in the food industry)
  • Must be able to communicate at all levels within the business
  • Demonstrable logical and thorough fault-finding ability using PLC software
  • IOSH qualification, ideally NEBOSH qualified
  • Trained to 18th Edition minimum
  • Trained in Inspection and Testing is an advantage
  • Understanding of KPIs and how to achieve them
  • To keep up to date with technical and manufacturing changes
  • Computer literate
  • Must be a team player, problem solver with a flexible, can-do approach
