About the Role 

The Finance Manager takes responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of forecasting and reporting for both operating and capital expenditure for IT and specific areas of Group overheads.

 

Responsibilities

Performance Reporting & Business Partnering Summary

  • Financial Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee Group overhead expenditure, provides early warnings on budget overruns, and delivers timely performance reports to support financial targets and KPIs.
  • Variance Analysis & Modelling: Investigates budget variances and supports cost-saving through forecasting and financial modelling to inform business decisions.
  • IT & Business Partnering: Leads account consolidation, develops overhead reporting, and collaborates across teams to ensure accurate financial representation.
  • Financial Control & Decision-Making: Establishes and drives financial control processes across services, projects, and IT cost allocation.

Rolling Forecast

  • Leads budget production across capital, operating, and cash streams.
  • Supports development of a monthly rolling forecast model in Cognos and maintains headcount reporting models.

Operational Insights

  • Contributes to feasibility studies and business cases, focusing on cost-benefit and ROI analysis.

Control Environment

  • Ensures robust financial processes for clean audits and compliance with IT and corporate policies.

Business Reporting

  • Implements and advises on cost charging strategies, maintains Cognos Group overhead reporting, and develops new reports as needed.

People Management & Engagement

  • Manages a team of 2 setting goals, providing support, feedback, and fostering development, motivation, and high performance.

Projects & Ad Hoc Support

  • Provides financial support to projects including centralisation and IT transformation initiatives

 

About You 

Ideally you will have:

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification. (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Have expertise in the analysis and reporting of financial costs and forecasts against budgets.
  • Ability to work comfortably with multiple priorities across multiple stakeholders of various seniority and make contingency plans to account for changing work priorities, deadlines, and milestones.
  • Excellent communicator both verbal & written with the ability to advise and support using analysis and trend information generated.
