What we do.
This particular role is at our Bakkavor Meals site in Park Royal - West London. Split across 3 factories and 1 distribution centre. The factories make chilled ready meals, houmous dips, deli products & savoury accompaniments and employs over 2,000 people.
About the role.
We are looking to recruit a Senior Specification Technologist to join our technical team.The Senior Specification Technologist (SSPT) is responsible for creating and managing finished product specifications for retailers, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, legal labelling and artwork standards.
This role involves working within retailer systems, maintaining accurate records and supporting product launches by verifying on-pack claims and raw material details. The SSPT ensures specifications are completed accurately and on schedule, contributing to the smooth delivery of finished products.
This role is suited for someone detail-oriented with expertise in specification management, legal labelling and artwork review. Familiarity with retailer IT systems and a strong understanding of document control is essential for maintaining accuracy in product specifications and tracking changes to raw materials. Practical communication skills are necessary for managing customer interactions, addressing discrepancies and supporting the team with technical knowledge
Accountabilities.
- Technical Standards: Completion of finished product specifications to meet the critical path and/or customer requirements, ensuring completion to right first time requirements for the retailer
- NPD: Review of finished product artwork to ensure the finished product artwork standards and legal requirements are met and delivered to the agreed critical path. Escalates appropriately internally/externally if discrepancies found
- Customer Management: To ensure all retailer online systems are reviewed and the housekeeping of site details are kept up to date and accurate.
- Audits: Support business during customer visits and audits. Demonstrating where needed the full compliance of the specifications administration.
- Technical Standards: Ensure the raw material details entered on the finished product specification are the most up to date and applicable for the launch of the product. Tracking any changes to raw material supply and updating finished product specs accordingly
- Quality Systems: Maintain high standard of document control relating to the details required for all finished product specifications.
- Communication: ensure that inaccuracies found during the specification to Launch process are raised in the appropriate manner to the relevant manager as quickly as possible.

- Relevant academic qualifications or experience working within a factory environment
