What we do.   

This fantastic opportunity will be based at our Bakkavor Pizza site in Holbeach St Marks, Lincolnshire. The site specialises in making chilled pizzas and is 11 miles from Spalding, 13.5 miles from Boston, 18 miles from Wisbech, 23 miles from King's Lynn and 29 miles from Peterborough.

About the role.   

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Stand-Up Section Leader to lead the Engineering team at our food manufacturing site in Holbeach

 This role will mostly be a ‘hands on’ engineering role whilst leading the team on shift and will cover the Section Leader’s holidays. For those periods you will be 50/50, hybrid management and ‘hands on’ - you will help maintain, install and improve the performance of processing equipment across the site.

Role Accountabilities:  

• Conduct planned maintenance of processing and packaging assets.  
• Accurate & timely records are entered and recorded on all work carried out, root causes of failures and of spares/consumables used.
• Respond to breakdowns.  
• Conduct reactive maintenance or corrective actions to resolve deviation.  
• Identify faults (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and pneumatics) and action as required.  
• Manage the engineering team to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work so that plant availability is optimised and manage technical specifications for ingredients, products, processes & packaging.
• Implement agreed training & development plans to meet engineering & production needs. Comply with statutory & Bakkavor Health & Safety requirement, ensures reports work in a safe manner. This will include ownership of dynamic risk assessment process.
• Ensure engineering downtime is minimised, accurately logged, and monitor the repair time. Liaise with planning and operations team to allow for PPM to be completed in a timely manner.
• Ensure all stock is logged in and out of the stores area highlighting any stock issues to the engineering team manager.
• To maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer. GMP standard of workshops and engineers tool boxes is maintained at a high level.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects to optimise assets or processes.  

About you 

• Engineering apprenticeship (C&G / EAL NVQ Level 3 / 4 or OAL FDEM Diploma)  
• Current Edition of IET Wiring Regulations (C&G Level 3, achieve within 12 months).  
• Application of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and procedures  
• Planning works and writing reports.  
• Verify assets meet performance criteria after work.  
• Reading and adhering to site SOPs.  
• CMMS experience (achieve within 12 months).  
• A multi skilled background, ideally you will have an electrical bias but we will also consider a mechanical bias
• Experience completing both reactive and planned maintenance activity and small installations 
• People management experience
