SKILLED OPERATIVE Sunday – Thursday 5.45am - 15.05 The primary focus for this role is to ensure the effective performance of a fresh mash filling line, through both asset management and control of materials and labour. You will be part of an effective line based team, be able to inspect, identify and carry out routine and line specific equipment repairs and/or maintenance. Your role will also encompass giving support to the engineering function during planned and unplanned maintenance.
This is a key function within the unit to ensure the production plan is delivered on time, efficiently and effectively taking into account quality and health and safety.
You will be responsible for leading the production area ensuring that all the necessary operational tasks are completed on time and as required, and you will support your colleagues to ensure that they adopt the correct operating procedures.
The adoption of ’Lean’ manufacturing principles within this area will require that you take a leading role in supporting your team in achieving its objectives.
The role will encompass capturing SIC (short interval control) data and entry of DWOR figures (daily and weekly operating results).
The ideal candidate will need to have sound mechanical knowledge and experience and a thorough understanding of the manufacturing process, including efficiency and quality standards. They will have an awareness of safe working practices, be an effective team player with a ‘can do’ attitude. They will be expected to work as part of a small, self managed team, that consistently delivers results. So the ability to identify issues and put improvements in place is essential, as is the ability to form effective working relationships within the team and across the business unit.
