Quality and Stock Controller

 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quality and Stock Controller to join our Inbound and Outbound Logistics team based in Spalding, Lincolnshire.

 

As Quality and Stock Controller, you will assist with the day-to-day operation of managing the quality of products being sent to customers, from intake to despatch – working closely with our supply chain to ensure accurate stock management.

 

In this busy and exciting role, liaising with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure the quality of products and service - whilst safeguarding requirements on food safety and legality – will be top of your agenda.

 

Main Duties

 

Quality Control

 

  • Physical quality checks to completed on fresh produce, against required specifications on all fresh produce to ensure Bakkavor standards of food safety, legality & quality are met.   When required, sort through product to meet customer orders
  • All relevant systems to be kept updated with information on deliveries and/or quality and all information entered in a timely manner

 

Stock management

 

  • The management and control of BIL owned stock in own goods warehouses, including but not limited to stock balancing, counting, alignment, reclassification, unloading and short life investigation

 

Operational Equipment Management

 

  • Tray and pallets - The day-to-day management within the relevant system for all BIL owned trays and pallets, including ordering, the monitoring of inbound and outbound movements, collections, and audits
  • QC Equipment - Ensuring all QC equipment is calibrated and kept within date

 

Internal relationships

 

  • Ensure good communication within BIL to obtain best results providing effective support for each other

 

Customers

 

  • Maintaining a close relationship with both internal and external customers while promoting open communication regarding any issues.  
  • Investigation of any relevant customer queries from own goods warehouses and feeding back to relevant parties

 

Suppliers

 

  • Close communication with all suppliers regarding any issues for products arriving at the BIL own goods warehouse
  • Investigate any relevant supplier queries and feeding back to relevant parties

 

Traceability

 

  • Ensure that all fresh produce received is approved for use by Bakkavor and all required information is entered in the relevant system
  • Assist customers/suppliers with any traceability information requested for all BIL stored own goods products
  • Management of COA’s and delivery notes from suppliers and warehouses.  Ensure all information received is easily accessible

 

SHE

 

  • Where required, monitor and manage hygiene standard, waste, temperature, and equipment daily and report any issues or abnormalities to the line manager and/or warehouse manager
  • Conduct required audits to ensure BIL is meeting requirements

 

Non-conformance

 

  • Recording of all non-conformances in the relevant system. Ensure all required non-conformances are logged and, where required, followed up to completion

 

About you

 

Ideally you will have previous experience of a similar role within a fast-paced FMCG or food manufacturing setting.

 

Good written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and the ability to work under pressure will all be key.
