As a key part of the site leadership team, reporting to the General Manager Operations, your remit will include full operational responsibility for the site.   You will be responsible for driving operational performance through a continuous improvement culture whilst ensuring manufacturing capacity can deal with the here and now, as well as future demands. 
Focus on employee engagement will be achieved through effective business partnerships with both functional heads and the on-site operational team.  Achieving industry leading manufacturing best practice is the clear goal. 

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the sites develop their own "living" manufacturing strategy / plan to reflect the site's role in the overall Business Strategy. Ensure that this strategy has been converted into appropriate Operational Plans that are clearly understood and owned by the site teams.
  • Formulates the Business Strategy with the Business Executive Team. Responsible for developing and agreeing the longer term Business Manufacturing Strategy which is aligned to the Business Strategy. Takes a longer term view of both the Business and the Operational functions
  • Ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees within the Business and that as a minimum the Business meets the standards set out in the Group Health and Safety policy and meets all environmental standards.
  • Ensure that the highest food safety and quality standards are embedded through each site manufacturing operation.
  • Focus on team development and ensure that the appropriate team structures are in place, and are resourced by the right quality of people who reflect the Bakkavör Values and the needs of the Business.
  • Drives and deliver major change management programmes within the Business to deliver improved business performance. Coach and mentor site teams to deliver change management projects within their site to deliver improved business performance
  • Develop, agree with the site manufacturing teams, then implement a manufacturing audit with appropriate measurable KPIs that are cascaded through the site manufacturing teams, are used at all levels through the site manufacturing teams leading to action plans to improve business performance. Act as coach and mentor.
  • Develop customer relationships that inspire confidence in our manufacturing capability and by translating internal and external customer needs into deliverable operational actions
  • Review manufacturing revenue and capital expenditure budget plans proposed by the site manufacturing operations, which form an integral part of the overall Business Plan. Reviews each site manufacturing operation's total revenue and authorised capital expenditure to ensure that it achieves or betters agreed returns, ensuring in both of these that Bakkavör gets the best value solutions.
  • Drives innovation as a key business point of difference within the sites. Ensures that the site teams are open minded to new ideas and challenges them to deliver results in terms of innovation that improve business performance. Works closely with and supports the NPD process.
