Our Bakkavor site in Highbridge, which is one of our three Desserts sites in the UK, specialises in Cheesecake and Tarts, working closely with our sister site in Devizes that specialise in baked goods.
What will you do?
- Managing / conducting planned and predictive maintenance to prevent issues occurring and reactive maintenance where you will respond to breakdowns.
- Your may be required to lead or support the operational teams with machinery change overs and set ups.
- Contributing to the installation and decommissioning of food and drink assets is also part of the role.
- Working with other teams, you will contribute to technical performance reviews and continuous improvement activities.
- Completing work as part of a team or alone, depending on the task.
- Interacting with site teams, this may include quality, research, and development.
- You may also have contact with auditors, regulators, and customers undertaking site visits.
- Complying with food safety, health and safety, environmental, sustainability, and engineering regulations and standards.
- You will also take account of business operation considerations such as cost and service level agreements.
- Supporting the engineering team management in day-to-day HR activities such as: personal development plans (PDD), time management, holiday approvals, and disciplinaries etc.
About you
In this role you will need to have previous management experience as well as electrical or mechanical background is essential.
A good knowledge of health and safety legislation and strong interpersonal skills. A good understanding of operational DWOR and engineering KPI’s is essential.
To be successful in this role you will need to work well under pressure and be able to assist when required.
Qualification Requirements
- Engineering apprenticeship (C&G / EAL NVQ Level 3 / 4 or OAL FDEM Diploma).
- Current Edition of IET Wiring Regulations (C&G Level 3)
- Food Safety Qualification Level 2
- IOSH Managing Safely
