We’re looking to recruit an Engineering Stock Controller who will work at our Bakkavor Desserts factory based in Devizes, Wiltshire which specialises in making chilled desserts such as tarts, yum yums, doughnuts, pies and pastries.
The site employs over 550 people and is one of three factories that are part of the Bakkavor Desserts sector in the UK.
What you'll be doing
As an Engineering Stock Controller your role will be to coordinate the manufacturing unit engineering stores facility to optimise stock availability to meet operational needs and targets.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Monitor component use, identify stock requirements and place orders in a timely manner to meet the needs of the engineering maintenance plan and production activity
• Management of stock control policy and practices, including good housekeeping, to ensure that the inventory is accurate at all times and that stock can be speedily always retrieved
• Adoption of policies for stock acquisition, storage and the disposal of obsolete parts which ensure full stock availability and effective rotation of spares
• Optimise consignment stock and component levels to effectively manage cost controls
• Adhere to all policies and practices as requested by the customer and or regulatory bodies to always ensure compliance with agreed standards
• Provide information and data anomalies to inform root cause analysis and the identification of potential business improvements
• Monitor spending against budget to effectively manage the stock expenditure
What we're looking for
• Previous experience in an FMCG environment or similar engineering roles
• Computer literate in Word and Excel
• Experience working with relevant local standard operating procedures
• Detailed understanding of the impact of legislation on day-to-day operations in relation to food safety
• Previous experience of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or equivalent
• Experience of stores best practice
