Assistant Management Accountant - Operations

 

Bakkavor Desserts Devizes based in Wiltshire and specialises in making Baked/Bakery Desserts such as tarts, yum yums, doughnuts, pies, and pastries. The site employs over 550 people and is one of three factories that are part of the Bakkavor Desserts sector in the UK.

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant - Operations to join our Bakkavor Desserts Management Accounting team.

 

Accountabilities:

 

Performance Reporting

  • To ensure that periodic reports are prepared (and submitted), and that exceptions are identified and commented upon. 
  • Supporting the business managers, ensuring that they understand the information generated and are using it to improve performance. 
  • Generating ad-hoc information (normally commercial, purchasing, or operational related) to support the analysis of business performance.

 

Rolling Forecast

 

  • To support the generation of the operational elements of the rolling forecast, and review the results to ensure they are sensible.

 

Control Environment

 

  • To apply the operational control systems (e.g. DWOR, Variances).
  • Identifying areas of improvement / weaknesses and suggest modifications as appropriate.

 

Month End

 

  • To review Month End and work alongside the central reporting team to ensure the figures reconcile to expected, and investigate/understand any variances that may arise. 
  • To assist in preparing balance sheet account reconciliations for review and highlighting any issues as applicable.

 

IS and Business Processes

 

  • To maintain the management accounting systems (e.g. ERP, costings).
  • Ensuring that issues with systems and processes are highlighted and improvements are suggested.

 

About You

 

If you are working towards relevant qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA or equivalent, and possess the ability to manage large volumes of data into usable formats, along with accounting computer packages knowledge and excellent communication skills – this could be the perfect role for you.

 

You will be energetic, punctual, proactive, and reliable with the ability to lead, guide, and motivate others towards achievement.
