The Payroll Coordinator will perform a variety of daily functions of the Human Resources department including full cycle multi-state payroll for 1000+ employees, accurate tax set-ups, reporting, and answering incoming employee inquiries. Ideal candidates will have prior experience performing full cycle multi-state payroll using ADP WorkforceNow and possess excellent communication skills.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:


  • Completes timely and accurate bi-weekly processing of multi-state payroll, including pay/hours adjustments, garnishments, benefit deductions and taxes for salaried and hourly paid employees consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
  • Performs final audits of electronic timecards, wage computations and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
  • Process all manual check issues, voids and stop payments
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data in addition to following established procedures for updating, validating, and correcting employee records in various HR systems.
  • Produce standard reports to meet the needs of the business as well as Human Resources personnel.
  • Prepares end-user documentation, controls, and training materials as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service while adhering to company policies and local regulations.
  • Pulls audit document requests and answers auditor questions as needed.
  • Coordinates efforts between human resources, finance, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
  • Provides trouble shooting, analysis, and research related to payroll inquiries
  • Escalates recurrent payroll discrepancies for reporting, root cause analysis and resolutions
  • Collaborate with HR on payroll issues
  • Keep apprised of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations in all states the company has a presence to ensure compliance.
  • Proactively identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 - years processing payroll, minimum of 1-year processing multi-state payroll
  • Minimum of 1 year of HR Information Systems administration experience required.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with ADP preferred
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • CPP certification is a plus


Supervisory Responsibility This position doesn’t have any supervisory responsibilities.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
