UK Stores Manager (Engineering) – Bakkavor

Monday to Friday Days 8.30am-17.00pm (flex as per business needs)

Location: Bakkavor Spalding with hybrid working (1 to 2 days Spalding Head Office with remote working available)

Salary: £55,000-£60,000 depending on experience

The Role

This is a new and exciting role for a UK Stores Manager (Engineering) to join our Central Engineering Team and be responsible for driving and ensuring improvements and efficiencies across our 20 UK sites, by managing stock levels, managing stock efficiencies, managing, and reducing obsolete stock.

Duties and responsibilities

• Lead engineering inventory strategy.
• Lead the inventory CMMS process and support the procurement team with necessary information.
• Lead, develop and standardise the digital management processes including the file structure, the ability to manage business correspondence and confidential information.
• Lead and construct reports of food and drink inventory management activities, internal performance reports, asset management plans, reports to specific regulators and certifying bodies. 
• Create and maintain engineering documentation for food and drink engineering components.
• Develop and manage internal and external resources, meetings, schedule appointments and document discussion content.
• Drive the logistics and support the procurement of component parts for food and drink processing and packaging assets.
• Review inventory availability and performance of maintenance components. Review the suitability and efficiency.
• Audit and feedback the engineering documentation to ensure it is current
• Support the selection of external suppliers, the setting of objectives for suppliers and performance measurement of suppliers within the context of the organisation’s asset management approach. 
• Manage/respond to breakdowns of food and drink processing and packaging assets. Manage/conduct inventory interrogation to support reactive requests and develop corrective actions to resolve deviation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects to optimise food and drink assets or processes. For example, participate in failure investigations to ensure process effectiveness and to contribute to and implement practical engineering solutions for efficiency and profitability.
• Contribute to food and drink internal and external audits.
• Contribute to technical performance reviews in collaboration with other functions and stakeholders.
• Support the administration of maintenance and operational team members in the delivery of engineering technical competence.
• Management of day-to-day HR activities for direct reports.

Qualifications / Experience;

• IOSH Managing Safely (ideally upon application or achieve within 12 months).
• Functional Skills: Level 2* in Maths & English at grade C or above*, achieve within 24 months. (*or equivalent).
• Business Administration Level 3 LARS Code 196 (Desirable)
• Engineering Qualification Level 2 or above (Desirable)
• Food Safety Qualification (Level 2, achieve within 12 months)
