About this role.

Join Bakkavor as a Product Specialist and lead the charge in transforming our EDI IT systems. We are looking for somebody who can help us deliver business improvement projects, ensure our systems are high performing, fully supported, and aligned with the needs of Bakkavor and its customers alike.

 

We are looking for somebody who is currently a product specialist or a business analyst with some experience in supply chain, manufacturing or finance working as part of an IT setting, who is willing to cross skill into EDI technologies.  You must be hard working, have effective communication skills, a working technical knowledge and an enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment.  This role exists as part of a wider Group IT Business Systems team, and a broader IT department of circa 120 professionals. 

 

In addition, this is an exciting time to join Bakkavor, Bakkavor’s ambitious Project ‘Vision’ aims to create a world-class SAP S4/HANA solution, enhancing customer and colleague experiences with innovative, integrated technology. Your role will be crucial in supporting the EDI activities within Project Vision, helping design the future of our organisation and helping to ensure the functionality of our IT applications continue to deliver genuine business value for us as we transition to SAP S4/HANA.

 

Key role responsibilities.

  • Design and implement effective IT application and integration solutions, working with third parties and internal technical teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with IT colleagues, business colleagues and contacts in our customer organisations.
  • Ensure IT delivers the EDI service to suitable uptimes, holding suppliers to account where necessary to support business needs.
  • Lead high importance projects to successful outcomes, to do this you will define and govern project scope, produce project plans, define deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Operate within formal programme governance structures for accurate reporting and issue management.
  • Deliver quality governance artefacts that meet internal and external standards.
  • Be the primary point of contact for external vendors, overseeing their performance and working with them to yield optimum service.
  • Conduct technical configuration/customisation of third-party solutions for optimal user experience.
  • Ensure effective IT EDI applications and integrations during SAP S4/HANA implementation and align programme with overall business objectives.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies for technology adoption ensuring smooth transition and user acceptance of new IT solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to application transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate and secure data integration between systems (e.g., S4/HANA, Manhattan) and build reporting capabilities for operational and analytic purposes.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and manage escalations in collaboration with the support organisation.
  • Communicate progress and impacts effectively to various audiences.

 

About you.

We are seeking somebody with experience of working in IT, as a product specialist or business analyst with experience in supply chain, manufacturing or finance.  You will have effective communication and presentation skills, with a proven track record of successfully delivering IT projects. Your stakeholder engagement skills will be impressive, and your ability to adapt to different audiences will be present.  We want someone who listens, and offers opinion and guidance in a coherent, constructive, and persuasive manner. Business stakeholders and colleagues will value your opinion. You will be decisive and pragmatic; someone who is able to operate in situations that lack clarity or definition; working with others to drive clarity at pace. 

 

We’d like to see.

  • Solid experience in IT-enabled delivery, ideally in EDI-enabled systems however experience in supply chain, manufacturing or finance is relevant.
  • Expertise in supplier management.
  • Knowledge of core business processes and operations.
  • Experience of working with ERP solutions, ideally SAP S4/HANA although not essential.
  • Proficient understanding of Agile and waterfall project delivery methodologies.
  • Proven experience in managing project delivery teams.
  • Experienced in working with third parties and/or system integrators.
  • In-depth understanding of the design, build, test, and deploy stages of IT project delivery.
  • Strong relationship management abilities with strong influencing and communication skills.
