What we do
As a small Group Communications team, we work together on many varied internal and external projects and campaigns to support our market-leading fresh prepared food business deliver its strategy and people priorities. For this busy and exciting role, we are seeking a true communications professional and ‘all-rounder’.
You will partner with various stakeholders across Bakkavor to define communications objectives and develop creative and impactful content for both operational and office-based employees with the support of our in-house design team.
Whilst the focus will be on internal communications, you will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Senior Manager for External Communications - developing and supporting external communications and campaigns where required.
Accountabilities
Content creation
Producing compelling written and visual content for various communication channels and publications, including internal announcements, social media, website, newsletters, and presentations
Editorial responsibilities for key publications including company magazine and intranet
Campaign Development
Creating engaging and integrated campaigns using a variety of channels and media to meet Bakkavor’s communications objectives
Channel development
Managing and evolving existing channels, and create new ones as required, to meet needs and drive effective communications
Business Partnering
Through a partnering approach – working with stakeholders (including senior leaders) in Bakkavor, to develop and implement communication plans that support business objectives and enhance brand reputation
This will also include guiding communications for change programmes and business initiatives
Measurement and Analysis
Tracking and analysing the effectiveness of communication strategies, making data-driven recommendations for improvement and reporting communications effectiveness to key stakeholders
Project Management
Managing multiple communications projects and stakeholders utilising excellent multitasking and prioritisation skills
Employee Engagement
Understanding how communications can drive employee engagement and develop initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture
Events
Supporting with the development, delivery, content creation and organisation of important company communication events – this includes speech writing for senior leaders
Internal communications governance
Providing advice and guidance on the range of internal communications channels, whilst ensuring only approved templates and communications methods are used – assuring group style and Tone of Voice across internal channels
About you
- Communications experience in both corporate and operational environments – comfortable working in internal, digital and external communications and managing communications for change programmes and business initiatives. A bachelor’s degree in communications and/or journalism (or a related field) is desirable
- A trusted communications partner with a proven track record in partnering at all levels of the business up to senior executives to successfully develop and implement communication plans that support business objectives and enhance brand reputation
- Written communication skills, with a journalistic approach and high levels of professionalism and attention to detail
- A genuine passion for writing and producing effective and strategic business copy efficiently and accurately
- The ability to adapt copy for different employee audiences is essential, particularly where English is not the first language
- A strong project manager with the ability to multitask and prioritise
- The ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Creativity with attention to detail and ability to ‘get things done’ at pace
- An effective team player
- technical skills in MS Office suite & SharePoint and software that supports the creation of communications
- Experience of managing junior team members across several communications disciplines is desirable
