What we do.

We’re the market leader in the UK fresh prepared food industry - supplying meals, salads, desserts, pizza and bread to leading grocery retailers including Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. 

 

About the role.

In this challenging and varied role, you will work collaboratively with the General Manager and the Site Leadership Teams to shape and deliver the People Plan.

 

As a true generalist, you will oversee the full breadth of HR activity on site, including talent management, resourcing, employee engagement, reward and employment relations.

Understanding the priorities, challenges and key drivers for the site in order to influence all key decisions.  You will work closely with the leadership colleagues to ensure that the wider impact and consequences of any change are understood and well communicated.

You will need to work closely with central support functions such as HR Services, Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development to ensure that the site continues to attract, nurture and retain talent

You will effectively lead, coach and mentor a team of 5 to ensure that the HR function operates effectively and meet customers’ needs.

 

Reporting to the Head of HR for our Bakery Sector, you will work closely with them and the HR Leadership community across Bakkavor to ensure that all Group level strategies and processes are embedded at site level.  

 

About you.

With a CIPD qualification, you’ll:

  • possess excellent commercial/business acumen and should be financially astute
  • have proven experience of formulating people strategies that work in conjunction with an overall, wider business strategy.
  • have good working knowledge for prevailing employment legislation with proven experience leading collective consultations and managing workplace discipline to Employment Tribunal level.
  • be agile, influential, collaborative, results driven and strategic.
