Bakkavor Desserts is based in Devizes, Wiltshire and specialises in making chilled desserts such as tarts, yum yums, doughnuts, pies and pastries. The site employs over 550 people and is one of three factories that are part of the Bakkavor Desserts sector in the UK.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the South West Desserts Packaging Team. The role is based in Devizes, however will cover both our South West Desserts sites with occasional travel to Highbridge. You will be working as part of a busy multi-site team, bringing your organisation expertise to deliver amazing products to our customers.

 

This is a varied role where no two days are the same with lots of opportunity to grow and develop.

  • Manage the artwork critical path to include, contacting design agencies for artworks, sign off packaging details as part of the artwork approval process (cross functional sign off), update the critical path daily, highlighting any potential issues that could impact the agreed launch date.
  • Support the Development Team in the organisation of repeat samples for customer meetings.
  • Support and liaise with the Process Team arranging bulk samples for production trials, product sign off meeting's and pre-productions, making sure the packaging is delivered to site on time and is in the correct area as and when required, updating the stock sheet so we always have an up to date view on available samples.
  • Co-ordinate and book transit trials for all retailers, completing reviews and reports to the agreed timeframes.
  • Review first delivery of new packaging, ensuring they meet the agreed specification and scans in.
  • Updating QAS’ and line standards alongside the process technologist ready for launches and changeovers.
  • Completion of internal paperwork and processes such as raising purchase orders, internal part codes, internal specification generation, bill of material amendment forms and packaging amendment forms.
  • Updating of our Recipe Professor system and KPI tracker for packaging items

 

 

 

 

 

Required for the role:

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft)
  • Must be able to work at pace and multi task
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Able to travel occasionally (retailer stores for barcode scanning, travel to Highbridge and supplier visits to knowledge build)
