 What we do. 

his particular role is at our Bakkavor Meals site in Park Royal - West London. Split across 3 factories and 1 distribution centre. The factories make chilled ready meals, houmous dips, deli products & savoury accompaniments and employs over 2,000 people.  

About the role.   

 As a Lead Materials Planner you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the materials planning team and will support the materials planning manager in the delivery of the Business Plan & Supply Chain Strategy.

Role Accountabilites:

• To lead the Materials scheduling team, standing in for team members where needed
• To run the BML MRP, interfacing with finance and commercial as needed
• Work with the operations team and planners to minimise waste and maximise efficiency while maintaining Technical and H&S requirements.
• To process supplier orders and communicate with the wider materials and planning teams, operations, goods in, technical, buying, commercial and accounts departments.
• Generate the materials plan, using stock levels, usage rates and orders, and cross checking the daily plan. Re- plan when needed
• To keep up to date with stock value and to manage this within target levels
• To update the order boards based on supplier and buying input
• Maintain and crosscheck all BML warehouses and outside storage stock levels
• To provide accurate and timely materials stock reports.
• To communicate service risks/issues internally with planning and operations teams.

About you :

• The ability to communicate effectively and develop strong relationships both internally and externally.
• The ability to lead a small team of two technically strong managing a wide range of high value materials
• The ability to see tasks through to completion.
• To be numerate and detailed.
• The ability to solve problems.
• To manage own time effectively and work independently
• To be competent in Excel and Word
