We are seeking a skilled and passionate Training Manager for the Project. The Training Manager will be an experienced transformation and learning professional, with strong and demonstrable experience delivering training strategies and learning interventions across large, multi-year, technology-enabled business critical transformation programmes.
The Training Manager will be responsible for delivering the overall training strategy and training deployment approach across the S/4HANA programme. This will include leading training needs analysis, supporting curriculum design, training environment coordination, training material development, training scheduling, and end-user training delivery, with the intention of ensuring colleagues across the business are equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and capability required to successfully adopt the new SAP solution.
Critically, this role will work closely with operational sites, business stakeholders, workstream leads, the Systems Integrator partner, and change champions to ensure training is practical, role-based, and aligned to operational ways of working. The Training Manager will play a key role in driving user readiness, adoption, and sustained business engagement throughout the programme lifecycle and into hypercare.
As a dynamic, self-starter, the individual will have the ability to communicate with, and influence senior stakeholders, build strong cross-functional relationships, and operate effectively within a fast-paced transformation environment to ensure successful business adoption of the S/4HANA solution.
What you'll be doing:
- Execute the end-to-end training strategy, planning, and execution for the S/4HANA implementation programme across all business functions and operational sites
- Develop and maintain the programme training plan, including training needs analysis, curriculum design, delivery approach, timelines, resource requirements, and deployment activities
- Partner with programme workstream leads, business SMEs, the Change team, and the Systems Integrator to define role-based learning requirements and training content
- Ensure training solutions are aligned to business processes, operational ways of working, and the overall change and adoption strategy
- Oversee the development, review, and quality assurance of training materials, user guides, simulations, quick reference guides, eLearning content, and supporting documentation
- Define and manage the training environment strategy, including coordination of system access, training data, and environment readiness to support effective delivery
- Coordinate and manage all training logistics, including scheduling, attendance tracking, site coordination, communications, and reporting
- Lead and support train-the-trainer activities and manage networks of super users, training champions, and local site representatives
- Deliver or oversee engaging instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning solutions to support colleague readiness and confidence
- Work closely with operational sites and business stakeholders to ensure training is practical, accessible, and relevant to frontline and operational colleagues
- Establish and track training readiness metrics, attendance, completion rates, competency measures, and user feedback to assess business readiness and adoption levels
- Identify and manage training-related risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans, escalating where appropriate
- Support business readiness, go-live planning, and hypercare activities to ensure colleagues are supported through transition into the new SAP environment
- Act as a key liaison between the programme team and business stakeholders to drive engagement, user adoption, and sustained learning throughout the transformation
- Provide regular status reporting, governance updates, and progress insights to programme leadership and steering groups
- Drive continuous improvement across training and learning activities by incorporating lessons learned, stakeholder feedback, and adoption insights throughout the programme lifecycle
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience designing and delivering training strategies within large-scale business and technology transformation programmes
- Experience of developing role-based learning approaches, training curricula, and end-user training plans
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility across operational and corporate teams
- Experience coordinating training delivery across multiple sites, functions, and workstreams within complex programme environments
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage audiences at all organisational levels
- Experience managing training needs analysis, learning content development, training environments, and training logistics
- Ability to translate complex business processes and system functionality into clear, practical, user-focused learning materials
- Experience of managing super user, trainer, or champion networks to support business readiness and adoption
- Excellent organisational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across programme teams, business stakeholders, and Systems Integrator partners
- Experience of supporting operational readiness, user adoption, and hypercare activities during major system deployments
- Previous experience of working to support an ERP implementation, specifically with SAP S/4HANA preferred
- Experience within manufacturing, supply chain, FMCG, or operationally intensive environments would be advantageous
- Familiarity with digital learning tools, learning management systems (LMS), and blended learning approaches would be beneficial
