Why Greencore?

Following the combination with Bakkavor in January 2026, we’re one of the UK’s leading creators of convenience food, driven by a simple purpose: to make every day taste better.

As a vibrant and fast-moving business, we’re proud to employ over 28,000 talented colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots in the UK and the US. Together, we bring delicious food to life. Our products cover every meal occasion from breakfast through to dinner and dessert, with lunch and snacking in between. In FY25, our shared passion helped us achieve combined revenues of approximately £4bn.

Our extensive direct-to-store (DTS) network, with 17 depots across the UK, allows us to deliver fresh and frozen food both our own and from trusted partners to thousands of stores every day, ensuring consumers enjoy the very best, whenever and wherever they shop.

What you’ll be doing

To translate business and performance needs into high-quality, learner-centred solutions that improve capability and performance, from across any level or function within the business.

The Learning Experience Designer uses strong learning design principles, instructional design, creative development and evaluation practice to design, build, test and continuously improve blended learning experiences.

The role works closely with Subject Matter Experts, stakeholders and delivery colleagues to ensure learning is relevant, usable, accessible and effective in the real world.

Role Accountabilities

  • Learning Diagnosis - Refine briefs that have already been validated with stakeholders, to gain deep understanding of the business need, performance issue, audience, context and constraints. Translate this into clear learning outcomes and design criteria.
  • Solution Design - Design appropriate learning experiences and interventions that put learners first and use the right mix of modalities, including instructor-led, virtual, on-the-job, self-directed and digital elements where appropriate.
  • Content Development - Develop high-quality learning assets and resources such as ILT and VILT materials, workbooks, facilitator guides, job aids, learner handbooks, storyboards, scripts, e-learning and video-based assets, maintaining strong standards of visual design and usability.
  • Creative and Instructional Design Expertise - Apply knowledge of business and operational environment to design practice, to ensure fit with cultural and operational constraints/limitations. Use creativity and experimentation to produce modern, engaging and accessible experiences. Work with other design specialists to challenge thinking and improve the quality of the offer.
  • Piloting, Testing and Iteration - Pilot new learning packages, test them with users and delivery colleagues, gather feedback, and refine content to improve relevance, clarity, usability and impact before wider rollout.
  • Stakeholder and SME Collaboration - Collaborate effectively with operational stakeholders, SMEs and other Learning Team colleagues to co-create solutions, explain recommendations, challenge constructively and keep work moving at pace.
  • Facilitator and Delivery Enablement - Create robust facilitator toolkits and train-the-trainer style materials that enable others to deliver learning consistently and confidently.
  • Evaluation and Continuous Improvement - Take received evaluation from learning experiences using feedback, data and practical insight and compare against intended outcomes. Use findings to refresh, improve or retire learning solutions as appropriate.
  • Governance of Design Quality - Maintain strong design discipline across documentation, testing, accessibility, review cycles and version control so that learning assets remain robust and maintainable.
