About the Role
In this dynamic role as a Process Technologist, you will help develop the manufacturing capability needed to take approved product concepts into full-scale production.
Working closely with all functions and with the customer, you will ensure products are produced in line with food safety, technical, H&S, financial and commercial standards.
The role focuses on delivering successful product validations in a fast-paced environment, meeting both Bakkavor and customer requirements while supporting the business in bringing new products to market efficiently and safely.
Role Accountabilities
- Deliver trials on time and in line with business-critical paths, using problem-solving to capture and resolve issues across functions.
- Prepare and complete transit tests, review microbiological and nutritional results, and ensure compliance with customer codes and project objectives.
- Facilitate post-trial evaluation, coordinating samples, reviewing organoleptic assessments, and generating QAS reports with clear action plans.
- Conduct food safety validations in line with site CCPs and HACCP principles, ensuring compliance with retailer procedures.
- Manage raw materials and packaging, maintaining approval status, controlling costs, and proactively resolving issues to protect the critical path.
- Plan and support customer panels, build stakeholder relationships, communicate expectations, and implement improvements based on feedback.
- Monitor factory processes, collect relevant data for business systems, identify issues in standard production, and implement cost reduction opportunities.
- Complete controlled trial, pre-production, and launch documentation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and cross-functional alignment.
- Operate safely, monitor working practices, comply with legislation, report hazards immediately, and drive continuous improvements in health, safety, and environment.
About You
You are a motivated and inquisitive professional with demonstrable experience in a manufacturing environment, bringing a practical understanding of technical, production, or development processes.
You will excel at project coordination, understanding critical paths, and delivering outcomes efficiently while managing multiple priorities.
With strong organisational skills and diligence, you approach challenges pragmatically and proactively, spotting opportunities for improvement and finding agile solutions.
If you are a self-driven, results-focused professional who turns challenges into opportunities and consistently delivers tangible business impact, this is the role for you.
