What we do.
 

Our Bakkavor Pizza site based in based in Harrow makes hand crafted, wood fired - specialty pizzas for customers such as Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsburys, Pizza Express range, co-op and Booths. 

 

About the role. 
 

Reporting into the Process Manager, you will ensure the smooth transition of product concepts to launch. Ensuring the technical and quality standards are achieved and maximising profitability. You will challenge current factory processes and look for improvements, efficiencies, and will value engineering. 
 
Key Accountabilities: 

 

  • Ensure a deep understanding of the critical path and proactively communicate potential issues that may impact it, guaranteeing that all materials have RM approval status or appropriate concessions for trials.
  • Understand and adhere to microbiological and nutritional sampling procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Completing QASs to a high standard that meets customer expectations.
  • Deliver validations in alignment with site CCPs, HACCP principles, and project delivery timelines while ensuring strict adherence to customer requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate resources effectively to achieve the timely delivery of trials, pre-productions, and launches, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and BOM.
  • Conduct and document all trial data, including shelf-life and organoleptic assessments, to establish process capabilities and support due diligence.
  • Secure and submit appropriate samples for customer and analytical purposes, including microbiological, organoleptic, and transit trials.
  • Collaborate with NPD and Operations to define and ensure the quality attributes for work-in-progress materials, assembly, and finished products, considering operational capabilities.
  • Carry out ongoing process validation of factory equipment to meet site due diligence requirements, contributing to continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Coordinate pre-production and launch preparations, supporting post-launch evaluations to confirm the ongoing validity of the process established at launch and implement necessary improvements.
  • Operate in a safe working manner, continually supporting site and business improvements related to health, safety, and environmental sustainability.

  • Experience in similar role, in a manufacturing environment
  • Good organisational skills and able to manage own time and workload
  • Effective project management skills
  • Recognises business challenges, development processes, and customer expectations
  • Pragmatic in approach to problem solving and agile in finding solutions
  • Good attention to detail and spots opportunities for improvement
  • Self-starter who is inquisitive and driven to improve
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
