Our site in Devizes, Wiltshire, specialises in chilled desserts, including tarts, doughnuts, crumbles, pies, and pastries. The site employs over 580 people and is located close to Swindon, producing high-quality products at scale.
What you’ll be doing
As QA Supervisor, you will lead and motivate the QA team in monitoring and evaluating product and processing systems and factory practices. Ensure agreed standards of quality are achieved and improved upon. To take a lead in generating and building a quality culture.
Role Accountabilities
- Ensures appropriate resource available by managing QA team rota, holidays and recruitment.
- Audit scope and frequency specified and carried out as per schedule.
- Looks for continuous improvement on results.
- Clear message to teams on required standards for visits / audits.
- Support for Ops teams ahead of visits.
- QMS: To coordinate non-conformance findings including actions taken and report to relevant department managers ensuring completion of any required corrective actions from day-to-day issues e.g. micro results for positive release. In addition, trend non-conformances to identify recurring issues and find and recommend permanent solutions.
- QMS: To ensure products and ingredients are evaluated against specification.
- Provides support with investigation of root cause and potential solutions
- Risk assesses frequency of checking based on results
- To support the promotion of a quality culture and help to develop the quality management system.
- To coordinate QA requirements for product launches e.g. update of required documentation / systems, liaison with Process team / line support to ensure product is manufactured to correct standard.
- Checklist of tasks to be carried out ahead of launch available and actions carried out promptly.
- With guidance from Line Manager, manage QA activities required to deliver improvement of Technical KPIs e.g. audit of non-conforming processes, complaint investigations, update of swab schedules, GMP audits, glass and plastic audits.
- System in place to trend technical KPIs and to drive corrective action to improve e.g. audit, investigation.
- To plan and co-ordinate work of the QA team to meet requirements of the quality management system and the needs of the business ensuring that the QA team are kept up to date with all business and customer communication as appropriate.
- Documented list of QA tasks to be completed along with system to monitor compliance.
- Training: Lead, motivate and inspire QA team to achieve personal development and continuous improvement.
- CPD plan agreed & reviewed annually.
- H&S: To operate in a safe working manner and support the site/business on continuous improvement relating to health, safety and the environment.
- Immediately reports hazards.
