Job Detail
Reporting into our Technical Services Manager at our Bakkavor Wigan site, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Technologist to provide technical expertise to our customers, suppliers, and throughout the business, advising of legal, safety and quality standards and providing specialist technical support to all functions.
Accountabilities:
Role accountabilities include:
- Technical Management Support – To support he administrative aspect of the technical department taking responsibility of the day to day management and maintenance of some or all of the following: QMS, HACCP, legislation, specifications, technical reports, contaminants, complaints, microbiological and nutritional surveillance.
- Communication – To ensure effective, professional, timely customer communication. Contribute to customer audits and visits, leading in areas of expertise.
- Audits – To conduct audits as part of the internal QMS. To trend actions and non-conformances and to report into the relevant forums.
- NPD – Work with the team to ensure all changes associated with launches, delists, and promo activities are implemented to support the operation teams and achieves the correct deadlines.
- People – To deputise and support others in the technical team in all tasks as required and be flexible to cover different work, also be involved in projects as requested.
- Health & Safety - To operate in a safe working manner and support the site on continuous improvements relating to health and safety.
About you:
- Previous demonstrable experience in a chilled food manufacturing environment in at least one of the following disciplines: Technical; Production; Development; or graduated in related discipline
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage own time/workload
- Is aware of the business issues; trials; development concepts and customer expectations
- A pragmatic in approach to problem solving and is agile in finding solutions
- Vigilant with good attention to detail and spots opportunities for improvement
- A self-starter who is inquisitive and driven to improve
